Ive always been interested in photography, I can remember when I was about six years old and my Grandad died he had a 35mm SLR (Single Lens Reflex )camera ,my Grandma thought it was too complex for me so it was part exchanged at Maurice Roberts in Dalton Road Barrow for a 35mm compact camera, I`ve had disposables, polaroids 110 mm cameras and a disc camera ! !When I started in the shipyard a couple of Welders did a bit of photography and we went to Exhibitions & Shows taking photos of Glamour Models ,Hot Air balloons, and the countryside and compared photos. For a few years I was in the Camera Club above Carradus Electrical in Rawlinson Street and we used a Studio in Emlyn Street .I also went to Furness Foto Club for a few lessons, I bought two really expensive Cameras in the 80`s from Dixons in Kendal and then for some reason or other I stopped dont know why (regret it a lot )(still have the cameras). Then a few years ago I started to get the bug again and started to get into "the digital era !!". I bought a Nikon D70 and practised on that everything from Sunsets, Winter,Sports, Birthdays,Christenings,Holidays, Engagements and Weddings although I was never the official photographer :-(. Then i went to a Nikon D90 and a Nikon D3000 and in February of this year I got asked to do my first "official" Wedding of Mike and Louise Downing,I was nervous I must admit (after all its their BIG Day) but took loads on the day and they were really pleased with them :-) Editing them is one of the favourite part of photography for me, cropping them, adjusting them in photoshop to Sepia/Black and White / Colour.
